|
| Dear owner, |
| Most of you have already had a quick look around Villantis, and for several properties I have prepared the set-up and settings, though not everyone is using it live yet. Meanwhile, a lot has been built over the past weeks. In this newsletter we highlight a much-requested new feature, and at the bottom you'll find a short round-up of everything else that has been added. |
| ✍️ New: send guest emails yourself, with your personal touch |
| Some owners prefer to write to their guests personally. Now you can: switch your property to manual and the platform no longer sends anything by itself, not even the acknowledgement. Instead, every email waits fully prepared as a draft on the booking card; you adjust the tone and press Send yourself. Rather keep everything automatic, the way it is now? Then there is nothing you need to do. |
| 1. You switch it on yourself: open your property → Communication tab → "Sending guest emails" → choose manual and save. |
 |
| 2. When an enquiry comes in, you'll see a green label next to the booking number on the board, and on the week overview on your phone. |
 |
| 3. Open the booking: under "✉ E-mails" you'll see what is ready to go. Send sends the email as it is, Skip means deliberately not sending it (always restorable), and at the bottom you'll see what has already been sent: click it and you see exactly what the guest received. |
 |
| 4. Via View & edit you adjust the text and the subject inside the real email: the dotted part is yours, the frame and the booking link stay in place automatically. The contract PDF is attached automatically where needed. |
 |
| Safety built in: if the booking changes (amount, dates) after you edited a draft, we hold the send until you have checked the text. And our nightly quality control warns when a guest has been waiting too long for a reply. |
| 📅 Also new this month |
| Price calendar 2.0: for properties with flexible pricing: click a period, type the nightly rate, done. With weekend rates (Fri/Sat), prices per year (make a trade-fair week more expensive without breaking the pattern), long-stay discounts, closures right on the calendar and school-holiday dots. |
| Booking.com & Airbnb connected: paste your channel's calendar link (iCal) on the Integrations tab and their bookings automatically block your calendar; our channel calendar keeps the other side up to date. With a double-booking alarm: if anything overlaps, you get an email within half an hour. |
| Rates block for your own website: one snippet of code on your site and your prices, costs and extras always show live what is in the platform. Never an outdated price table again. |
| Fewer guest emails in spam: after an enquiry the booking form points the guest to their spam folder (extra clearly for Hotmail/Outlook), and delivery problems are now reported to us immediately. |
| Fixed changeover day enforced everywhere: if your property is set to "Saturday", a guest on your own site can only choose Saturday-to-Saturday, exactly as on the channels. |
| 🔭 In development |
| A direct API connection with Booking.com and Airbnb (prices and bookings in real time, including guest details) and online payments for guests (iDEAL, Bancontact and the new European Wero). As soon as it goes live, you'll read it here. |
| 🚀 Not live yet? I'm happy to help you get started |
| If your property is still in preparation, I'd love to take it live together with you: filling in prices and costs, putting the emails and the contract in your tone of voice, doing a test booking and placing the booking calendar on your website. Most of it is done within an hour. Just reply to this email and we'll plan a moment, and for the smaller questions there is always the documentation via 📖 in the portal. |
Best regards, Bart, Villantis |
